Teaching Philosophy
Pablo Picasso once said "Every child is an artist. To remain an artist when he or she grows up is the challenge."
I believe that education serves as a critical foundation in our society. Every student deserves and has a need to come to an educational place where they do not feel the attacks and hardships of the world. Rather than face them, we teachers also have jobs to prepare them for the hardships they will come in contact with and equip them with the knowledge they need to go out into the world and be extraordinary.
Art is the only thing I have ever had a desire to teach. Art has played a vital role in my life as a child, teenager, student and as a young adult. Being creative allows you to express yourself uniquely in ways you can not learn from other classrooms. To have a creative mind, you expand on ideas about beauty and aesthetics and set them in your life in your work, jobs and even relationships with people. This is why I teach students, because I am given the opportunity to teach someting I personally love.
As a teacher, I stress the importance of being active in my classroom. My favorite part of education, other than teaching something I love, is the aspect of interacting with the students. I believe God's given me a heart for children and teenagers. I am a firm believer in positive reinforcement within every age level of students and refuse to allow negativity teaching into the realms of my classes.
My goal as an educator is not only to expand their minds on beauty and art or broaded their creative skills, but also to encourage and uplift studets each and every single day.
